Skincare was never meant to be rushed.

Rooted Apothecary exists as a return to slower, more intentional care—where Ancestry, plant wisdom, and everyday ritual come back into focus.

All About Our Story

Rooted Apothecary began as a return to self — to natural care, intentional living, and the quiet rituals that ground us.

Founded by herbalist and creative Stephanie Jean, the brand grew from a lifelong love of making and a deep curiosity about plants. That curiosity became a practice, shaped by her Haitian ancestry and the generations of women before her who understood that plants were medicine long before it was ever named that.

What started as small batches for herself and her community slowly became something more — a rhythm, a space, a brand built around care that actually means something.

Rooted Apothecary exists to bring intention back to the everyday. To make the things you reach for feel chosen, not routine.

I didn’t start Rooted Apothecary with a big plan—it started with curiosity.

I’ve always liked creating things since I was a kid, and what began as simple DIY skincare projects slowly turned into a deeper interest in how ingredients work and how skin responds to care on a molecular level. Around the same time, I started thinking more about my Haitian background—where plant-based care has always been a natural, everyday practice.

As I got deeper into skincare, I also started dealing with my own skin issues, including eczema. I was looking for something that felt gentle, unrefined, and fragrance-free, but nothing really fit what I needed—so I started creating my own.

That combination led me to herbalism and its intention. It became a grounding practice—something I needed then and still rely on now.

Our Mission

Rooted Apothecary’s mission is to reintroduce skincare as self-care that is grounded, intentional, and connected to where we come from. Through plant-based care and ritual, our goal is to help people slow down, regulate, and reconnect—nurturing both skin and spirit while returning to the small practices that keep them rooted.
